Changing supplier

This information has been jointly produced by energywatch and the Energy Retail Association to help you understand the process of changing energy supplier, appreciate the important part that you play and how you can help yourself if something goes wrong. The change of energy supplier process should operate smoothly, but you can help by being able to provide accurate information to your supplier, particularly:

  • The amount of energy you use
  • The terms of the contract you have with your existing supplier (and metering service provider, if applicable)
  • Details of the premises you own/occupy, including any special metering arrangements

Your current supplier should be able to help you with this information if you do not have it. Generally, any queries you may have about the process should be raised with your new supplier.
